David "Dave" Joseph Smith

SMITH- David Joseph, Passed away peacefully on November 13th,2019 at LHSC- University Hospital, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Marilyn Smith (nee Martin) for 60 years. Loving father of Bob (Brenda) Smith and Kevin (Heather) Smith. Cherished grandpa to Brandon (Ashley), Jason (Jessica), Jordan and Jenna (Jacob). Great-grandpa to Jackson, Hanson, Finley, and Jonah. Dear brother of Doris (Late Gordon) Bonnell and brother-in-law to Bill Martin (Penny). Predeceased by his sister Helen (Late Calvin) Elliott. David is a long-time member of the Lions Club and the Masonic Lodge. Survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 177 Dundas St., Thamesford (519-285-2427) Monday, November 18, 2019, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A Lion’s service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 18th, 2019, Masonic Lodge service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, the funeral service will be held immediately after with John Van Eyk officiating. Burial to follow at the Robin’s Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lions Club of Thorndale, Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Lung Association, and may be arranged through the Funeral Home.
