Albertina Da Paiva Moniz

MONIZ, Albertina - At Woodstock Hospital, Albertina da Paiva (nee Duarte) Moniz passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in her 78th year. Beloved wife of the late Eduino Oscar Bernard Moniz (2010). Dear mother of Ilda Rosa (Andrew) Peat of Woodstock, Steve of Tavistock, and Malissa of Woodstock. Predeceased by her son, Paulo Jorje (1976), her parents, Jorje and Theresa Duarte, and two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Albertina was born on April 28, 1948, in the Azores in Portugal and emigrated to Canada with her husband and children in 1975. They settled in Toronto and lived in Little Portugal for a number of years, then moved to Woodstock to be closer to family. Albertina worked at a bakery in Toronto and cleaned office buildings in her working life. Friends will be received at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, from 2 to 5 pm with Prayers taking place at 4 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Woodstock.
