Alfriede Marquardt, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at Caressant Care.
Alfriede was known for her remarkable talent in finding four-leaf clovers, a symbol of luck that she cherished throughout her life. Her passion for gardening was evident in the lush plants and vibrant flowers that adorned her home. She took great pride in her garden, nurturing it with love and care, just as she did her family. While her culinary skills were minor, her baking was exceptional. Many delighted in her delicious treats, which became a cherished highlight at family gatherings.
Above all, Alfriede's greatest joy came from her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, who passed away in 2013, her son, Walter, who left this world in 2017, and her grandson, Jason, who passed this last December 2025. Alfriede is survived by her son, Juergens (Cindy), and daughter, Ramona (Paul), who have carried on her loving spirit. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Carissa, Christin, Brandon, and Tyler, who fondly remember the warmth and joy she brought into their lives.
Alfriede also shared a special bond with her sister, Bicki, and brother-in-law, Halmut.
The family invites friends and relatives to join them at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Sunday, January 18, 2026, for a time of visitation from 12 to 1 pm with the service taking place in the chapel at 1 pm.
If desired, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
