Obituary

Arthur Henderson, born on March 2, 1948, peacefully passed away on May 20, 2026. He will be remembered with great respect and admiration by all who knew him.

Arthur was a cherished husband to his beloved spouse, Jane. Together, they shared many memorable moments and a deep bond that stood the test of time. He was a devoted father to his children: Neil (and Karen), Gary (and Nicole), and Sarah (and Dave) Foster. His legacy also lives on through his cherished grandchildren: late Gage, Atlee, Emmitt, Novah, Olivia, and Odessa, who brought joy and pride to his life.

Family was of utmost importance to Arthur, and he shared a close connection with his siblings: Patrick (and Aine) Henderson, Michael Henderson, and Anne (and Rod) Clifton, along with their daughter Alexandra. He was also fondly connected to his sister-in-law, Terry King, as well as a number of beloved nieces and nephews who remember him fondly.

Arthur's final days were marked by compassionate care and support. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Melissa Tanner at Woodsingford Lodge, Woodstock, for her exceptional transition program. Melissa and her dedicated team made a significant impact on Arthur’s quality of life, offering comfort and dignity during a challenging time. Equally, an enormous thank you is extended to the team at PeopleCare Tavistock, whose skilled care and kindness enveloped Arthur’s final moments with respect and compassion.

Throughout his life, he had a deep love for motorcycles, finding great joy and freedom on the open road and his passion for Trains as well. As he got older, he developed a special interest in model trains, spending many peaceful and enjoyable hours admiring their detail and craftsmanship. 

Arthur Henderson’s life was a testament to love, family, and community. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and perseverance that will be dearly missed but forever remembered by those who had the privilege to know him.
