Catherine Ann Vording

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Mom, Catherine Ann Vording. Catherine passed away peacefully on November 13th, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Catherine lived a life of compassion, warmth, and love for those around her. She is survived by her loving husband, William Vording, and by her cherished children: Joe (Mary Jean), Sherry (Scott), Julie (Stan), and Melissa (Don); as well as her bonus children, Steve (Lauren) and Shawn (Jen). Catherine was a proud grandmother to Jennifer, John, William, Annie, Aurora, Sophia, Jasper, Joel, Portia, Kyla, and Ryder, and a delighted great-grandmother to Halina, Lucas, Anya, and Joey. 

Catherine spent much of her life caring for others, working with both children and the elderly. Her patience, gentle spirit, and genuine kindness touched countless lives. Catherine, also known as Cathy, Nana, Grandma Cathy, and Nanners loved nothing more than time spent with her family. Whether gathered around the table for a family meal, traveling together, or simply sharing a drink, Catherine found joy in every moment. She treasured music, singing, reading, dancing, and the feeling of warm sunshine on her face—small pleasures that reflected her bright and joyful soul. Catherine recently checked traveling and spending the cooler months in Florida off her bucket list this past winter, allowing her to read, walk, and swim in the sun almost every day

Catherine leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We would like to thank all those friends and family who prayed for her health, including James Scott.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, November 23rd, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock, Ontario.
