Charles Jarich Triemstra, in his 93rd year, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on July 1, 2026.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful servant of the Lord, Charlie lived a life marked by deep faith, love for family, and a genuine care for others.

Born on December 24, 1933, in Twijzelerheide, Friesland, Charlie immigrated to Canada in 1947 aboard the Tabinta, making the eleven-day journey toward a new life and future. Through hard work, perseverance, and God’s faithfulness, he built a life rooted in family, faith, and community.

Charlie was a devoted member of Maranatha Christian Reformed Church and was unwavering in his faith in Jesus Christ. On September 30, 1960, he married the love of his life, Elsie Hiltje Slager, and together they shared a beautiful rural life, farming side by side while raising their six children.

Charlie is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Elsie; his children Charles (Deb), Maribeth (Bert), Beverly (John), and Jason (Phetmany); as well as his 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his firstborn twin sons, Terry and Perry (Wendy).

Charlie loved people and never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation, especially when it came to sharing his faith. His wedding verse, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15), remained the foundation of his life and home. In his quieter later years, he continued to encourage his family and all who crossed his path to walk in the ways of the Lord.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church. A funeral Service will take place on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11 am at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church. A private family burial will take place at Oxford Memorial Gardens.

If you so desire, a donation to Maranatha Christian Reformed Church would be appreciated. Donations can be accepted by e-transfer to office@maranathacrcwoodstock.com or by mailing a cheque to 735 Frontenac Cres. Woodstock, ON N4V0B1.

Though his earthly journey has ended, we rejoice in the assurance that he is now singing in heaven in the presence of his Saviour, Jesus Christ.
