It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Arnold Brunelle, known fondly as
Chris to his friends and family, on March 10, 2024. Born on November 3, 1968, in Toronto, Ontario, Chris
brought joy and laughter into the lives of all who knew him. He was the beloved son of Bob and Erika
Brunelle and a loving brother to Denise (nee Brunelle) de Graaf and her husband Mike, David Brunelle
and his wife Jane, and Lynne (nee Godin) Jackson and her husband Lee.
Chris was the fun Uncle to his cherished nieces and nephews, Kaitlin de Graaf and her fiancé Adam,
Kirsten de Graaf and her partner Hayden, Austin Brunelle and his partner Brooklyn, Cole Brunelle and his
partner Cora, Danielle Jackson and her fiancé Ryan, and Brian Jackson and his partner Dani. Each of
them held a special place in his heart, and he took great pride in their accomplishments and journey in
life.
In his lifetime, Chris cultivated a love for the simpler pleasures in life. He was an avid fisherman, often
found in his boat, on the lake, rod in hand, waiting for the next big catch. His love for the outdoors
extended beyond fishing; he found solace in the tranquillity of nature and the changing seasons. Chris's
connection to the earth was evident in the way he cherished his time at the family cottage, where many
cherished memories were made with his loved ones.
Chris's dedication to his hobbies was unmatched. He loved working in his shop, where he could often be
found jamming out and working on various projects. His hands were skilled and his mind was inventive,
always ready to take on a new project.
His home was a sanctuary not only for him but also for his beloved cats, Mama, OJ, and Zeke. Chris's
affection for his feline companions knew no bounds, and their presence brought him immense comfort
and joy.
Those who knew Chris will remember him for his loving nature, keen sense of humor, and thoughtful
ways. He had a knack for making people smile and a generosity that touched the hearts of many. Chris
had the rare ability to light up a room with his presence and leave a lasting impression on all he met.
Chris's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship. His spirit will live on in the stories
told, the laughter shared, and the memories cherished by those fortunate enough to know him. Though he
has left this world, his legacy of kindness and joy will continue to inspire and comfort us.
As we say goodbye to Christopher Arnold Brunelle, we celebrate the life he lived and the impact he made.
He was a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend—an irreplaceable soul whose memory will be treasured
forever. Chris's journey through life was one of laughter, love, and the simple joys that make life worth
living. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
In memory of Chris, the family asks that charitable donations be made to the Ontario SPCA.
A private family memorial service has already been held. A celebration of life for friends and family will
take place at a later date.
