Clyde Hubert Pond, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at his home in Exeter on August 7, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on December 10, 1935, in Durham Bridge, New Brunswick, Clyde was a man whose life was as rich and deep as the waters he so loved to fish.
Clyde's journey through life was one of love, dedication, and the joy of sharing his passions. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy Pond, who passed away just days before him on July 29th, 2024. Together, they built a family and a legacy that will continue to flourish through their children: Connie and her husband Gregory, Karen who was predeceased by her husband Keith, Michael and his wife Dianne, and Kelly and her husband Brad.
Clyde's pride and joy were evident in his eyes whenever he spoke of his grandchildren: Tarah (Chris), Nicole (Shane), Jess, Kaitlyn (Graeme), Stacey, Bryce (Kendra), and Austin (Angela). His great-grandchildren, Jackson, Taylor, and Autumn, brought him immense happiness and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He was a beloved uncle to Brad (Shelly) and Shawnee (Tom). Clyde was predeceased by his parents, Scott and Bertha Pond, his brother Wendell and his wife Doris, and his sister Arleigh. His extended family, numerous and loving, will miss his presence deeply.
Clyde was an avid fisherman, a hobby that not only brought him peace. His love for woodworking was more than a pastime; it was a craft he honed with patience and skill. The pieces he created were not just objects of beauty but also symbols of his dedication and attention to detail.
Always willing to lend a hand, Clyde was known in his community for his generosity and willingness to help others. He had a natural ability to impart knowledge and wisdom, and he took great pleasure in teaching the younger generations the skills he had mastered over the years. His guidance and advice will be remembered and utilized by those who were fortunate enough to learn from him.
Clyde's life was a testament to the values of hard work, family, and the simple pleasures of life. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the quiet strength that comes from a life well-lived. As we say goodbye to Clyde, we also celebrate the indelible mark he has left on the hearts of all who knew him.
Clyde's life will be honored and remembered in a private ceremony, as per his wishes. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories told, the lessons shared, and the love he gave so freely. Clyde Hubert Pond will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
