David Allan Alexander

Dave passed away peacefully at Sakura House on July 15, 2025, at the age of 76 following a long illness. Beloved husband of Ellen Alexander for over 50 years. Loving father of Kristin Hope (Andrew), Matthew Alexander, and Ben Alexander (Janelle). Very proud “Gramps” of Julia, Claire, Quinn and Abby. Beloved brother of Doug Alexander and Susan Enders and brother-in-law to Brenda Woods, Helen Alexander, and Geoffrey Woods. Dave was also pre-deceased by brothers-in-law Bruce Woods and Peter Enders. He was a cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Dave dedicated much of his life and passion to teaching high school and coaching high school basketball and volleyball teams. His favourite hobby was woodworking. Many outstanding toys and articles of furniture have been produced in Dave’s famous workshop.

The family wishes to thank all the wonderful nurses at Woodstock Hospital and Sakura House as well as Dr. Shameena Tamachi for all their care and support during Dave’s illness.

Dave was very loved and will be greatly missed. In keeping with his wishes, a visitation and celebration of his life will be held at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004), from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025. Donations made in Dave’s memory to VON’s Sakura House or to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
