David Leslie Crittenden U.E., affectionately known as Dave, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, at Woodstock Hospital. Born on Christmas Day in 1931 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Joseph James and Winifred (nee Hart) Crittenden, who predeceased him. Dave's life was a tapestry of dedication, love, and intellectual curiosity.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 67 years, Doreen Crittenden (nee Foreman), and their son, David Gordon Crittenden. He was a cherished brother to Moira (Reg) Regimbal, Ralph (Barbara), and Gord (Jean), and a fond uncle to many special nieces, nephews and cousins

Throughout his career, Dave was a respected educator with the Woodstock Board of Education and the Oxford County Board of Education. His passion for teaching was matched only by his love for computers and genealogy, which saw him spend countless hours tracing family histories. He was a long time member of the United Empire Loyalists.

Dave's interests and his commitment to education left a lasting impact on his community.

His family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Woodstock Hospital, Victoria Hospital, and University Hospital for their exceptional care and support.

Dave's life was one of purpose and joy, and his memory will be treasured by all who knew him. His legacy of knowledge, kindness, and a life well-lived will continue to inspire future generations.
