David Orrin Tabor born November 7th, 1943, Woodstock, ON

David passed away April 29th at Woodstock Hospital with his wife Carol and his son Darryl at his side.

Survived by his life partner, Carol Ann Tabor, nee Masters and his son Darryl Tabor and his daughter in law Shannon Tabor and his lovely grandchildren Brody and Mackenzie Tabor and his brother-in-law, John Masters and his wife, Carol Larsen and their children Kristin Larsen & Nicole Larsen. Predeceased by his mother and Father, Jim and Gladys Tabor.

While David was encumbered with health challenges throughout his life, David was the ultimate fighter and fought back and won many battles…………David, looked a life with the perspective of the Glass Always Being Half Full……..never one to complain but to talk about all he had in his rich life, most importantly his Family and their affectionate lovely cats over the years.

David worked at the Woodstock Hospital for over 30 years – David met Carol “on the job” as they both had long and successful careers at the Hospital.

David and Carol were married on September 15th, 1973, just a “short” 49+ years ago.

David was a member of the Woodstock Probus Club and St. David’s United Church.

After David’s retirement, Carol and David enjoyed travelling and their trips took them to the United States – East, West & South - on several occasions, Caribbean cruises, River Cruise in Europe and visiting family in Alberta including a once in a lifetime Rocky Mountain train trip from Vancouver to Calgary ending in experiencing all the thrills of taking in the Calgary Stampede.

While working David was an avid bowler – both on the lanes and on the grass.

David’s other loves included cheering on for the Blue Jays, the Leafs and his favourite hockey team the Black Hawks.

In addition to travel and sports, David was a big country and western music fan and dabbled in choral singing.

Thank you to the Woodstock Hospital healthcare team who provided exceptional care for David, especially over the last few years and most recently the Team at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock where David was a recent resident.

In lieu of flowers individuals may choose to make a donation to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation or St. David’s United Church.
