Jones, Diane Ingrid Beatrice

Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, with husband of 56 years, Gary at her side, Diane passed away on May 1, 2024  in Woodstock, Ontario. She will be sadly missed by sister Laraine, sister-in-law Carol (Kevin) Sanderson, and nieces and nephews in B.C. and Australia.

Diane and Gary moved to London, Ontario from B.C. in 1972. In 1979 they moved to Woodstock and owned and operated Pinto Variety on Dundas Street for 10 years. Over those years, Diane encountered many people from her side of the counter and her quick wit and humorous remarks made people remember her to this day.

As a cancer survivor earlier in life her perspective of things differed greatly from others and that was clear when social discussions occurred, and her position or opinion was put forth. Never one to mince words, you always knew where you stood. Several friends were the beneficiaries of Diane's compassion over the years, assisting those in need when requiring special attention.

In keeping with Diane's wishes, cremation has taken place. At Diane's request there will be no funeral service, but visitation will be held on Monday May 6, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Brock and Visser Funeral Homes (845 Devonshire Ave. 519-539-0004). Share a memory at www.brockandvisser.com

In lieu of flowers, Diane has requested that donations be made in her name to Operation Sharing Woodstock, Ingamo Homes Woodstock, Oxford County Naval Veteran Association, or Woodstock Hospital Foundation. Alternatively, any local charity providing relief to those less fortunate.

Thanks to Dr. Aaron Regis, nurses Ashley and Brittany and the entire Oxford Palliative Care Team, along with the Emergency staff at Woodstock General Hospital that provided the timely and passionate care to make her final stage of life comfortable.

And special thank you to Oxford County Paramedics whom on several occasions provided a solid response with care and professionalism in a quick efficient manner.

From the band Chicago, the lyrics

"If you leave me now, you take away the biggest part of me"
