Obituary

Don Brenneman, born on May 19, 1949, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on March 24, 2026, in Hamilton, Ontario. His departure marks the end of a life deeply cherished by family and community alike.

Don was a man of many passions and talents. As an electrician by trade, he possessed a remarkable ability to repair and restore, never deterred by challenges. If there was something he did not know how to fix, he was steadfast in his resolve to figure it out. His hands not only mended tools and household items but also built a legacy of dependability and care. Beyond his technical skills, Don’s heart was found in nature’s embrace; he loved fishing and hunting, pursuits that brought him joy and connection to the world around him.

His love for family was profound and unwavering. Don was a devoted husband to Hughena, whom he married in 1968, and a loving father to daughters Sheri (Andrew) Morwood, Tami (Gord) Day, and Kimmy (Delano) Osmond. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren Tyler (Geena), Tayla, Tyrnan (Michelle), Travis (Seongjin), Mickala (Josh), Brandon, Destiny (Jordan), Hillary (Curtis), and Sabrina, as well as his great-grandchildren, Rylee, Riggs, Evelyn, Rafe, Theodore, plus one, Harmony, Jackson, and Oliver.

Don’s family was not simply extensive but deeply interwoven with love and respect, qualities he instilled in all who knew him. Don’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. He loved the Lord with all his heart, a devotion that guided his actions and provided strength and comfort throughout his journey. His time spent in Africa as part of a mission support team was a testament to his commitment to service and compassion beyond his immediate surroundings, reflecting a spirit eager to make a positive impact.

He is remembered with fondness by his siblings Jim Brenneman, Hugh (Sandra) Brenneman, Patric Brenneman, and Nancy (Tim) Rock; and by his in-laws Katherine (Sergio Nosella) Hewitt and Allan (Line) McGillivray. Don also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends who shared in the warmth of his friendship and generosity. Don was preceded in death by his beloved parents Archie and Merle Brenneman, sister Valerie Todd, sister-in-law Patricia Brenneman, and his grandson Christopher.

Don Brenneman’s life was one marked by dedication to his family, his faith, his craft, and his community. He will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all who were privileged to know him. His legacy of love, faith, and resilience endures as a beacon for those who follow.

Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 2 to 4 pm and again from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be taking place on Saturday, March 28, in the funeral home chapel at 11 am.

If desired, memorial contributions to the Cardiac-ICU at Hamilton General Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
