Eleanor Neabel, born on March 6, 1943, peacefully passed away on October 2, 2025, leaving behind a rich legacy of love and cherished memories. An active member of the Huron Park Baptist Church, was known for her unwavering faith and commitment to her community.
Eleanor dedicated her life to her family, having shared an enduring partnership with her beloved spouse David for 66 years. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Karen (Ken), Rick (Julie), and Scott (Teresa), who all carry forward her spirit of kindness and compassion. She was a proud grandmother to Erin (Matt), Curtis (Samantha), Jordan (Jenn), Nic (Jocelyn), Justin, Melissa (Peter), and Jennifer, and a devoted great-grandmother to her precious great-grandchildren Poppy, Clementine, Isaiah, Keigan, Kurtis, Gracie, Adelyn, Charlie, and Autumn. Her family was a source of immense joy and pride throughout her life.
Eleanor had a passion for sports, famously taking on the role of a softball mom and grandmother, demonstrating her enthusiasm and support for her family's activities. A true fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, she showed her loyalty as a devoted follower of the team.
She is survived by her sister Phyllis (Dave) Close and will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, who will hold her memory close to their hearts. Eleanor was preceded in death by her father Bruce Giles, her mother Grace Giles-Ford and stepfather Everett Ford, her son-in-law Fred Bierma, and her sister Marie McLean.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life during a visitation on October 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brock & Visser Funeral Home Burial and Cremation Services Ltd. Woodstock Chapel, located at 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, ON, N4S 8Z4, Canada.
