Gerhard "George" Ens

ENS, Gerhard (George) - Peacefully with family by his side, George passed away at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Woodstock on Thursday January 4th, 2018 at the age of ninety three. Beloved husband of the late June Ens ( March 1974) and Sandra Ens ( July 1992). Loving father of Debbie Lawrence and cherished grandfather of Jeff and Brad Gabris and great grandfather of Taylor Gabris and Noah Gabris. Dear brother of Elmer (Shirley) Ens and Margaret Groves (Predeceased). Loved uncle of Barry (Louise), Cindy, John (Denise), Peter (Nauni), Jim Groves, Rod Groves (Anita), Don Groves (Nadine) and many great nieces and nephews. Cherished friend Bea Habel, (predeceased). George had a life long passion for aviation and was an enthusiastic member of the MAAC Club. He was a very proud veteran of WWII. George's cheerful and positive outlook on life brought joy to many and he will be deeply missed by family and his many friends. A Legion service will be held in our chapel at 5:30pm Tuesday January 9, 2018. A visitation to celebrate his life will be held at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday January 9, from 6:00pm- 8:00pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday January 10 at 11:00am. Interment will take place at the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodstock. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
