Grant Eryle Jones

 Grant Eryle Jones 1946-2025.

On Friday, August 1, 2025, surrounded with the love of God and the love of his family, Grant Eryle Jones, beloved husband and best friend of Maria Elisabeth Jones, passed away peacefully at the University Hospital in London, ON.

He is survived by his wife Maria, his sisters-in-law Gail Jones and Mary Jones as well as nieces Tammy Carnahan (Nelson), Kim Shepley (Jeff), Cindy Ghikadis (Steve), and Laura Phan (Brian) and nephew Robert Jones. Grant is now in his eternal home and will be reunited with his parents Bill and Virginia Jones, brothers Allen and John and parents in law George and Maria (Rita) Knoops.

Grant is also survived by and was stepfather of Sonya (Tim) Smith, Paul Jonker, Lisa Roorda (Dave) and Kareen Tilford. He was grandfather of Benjamin (Lindsay) Smith, Austin (Brianna) Smith, Dylan Smith, Wyatt Tilford (Nikita), and Hillary and Mallory Roorda. He was Great Grandfather to Sawyer and Georgia Smith, Harper and Beau Smith, Cooper and Maeve Smith, and Alister Tilford. He was also Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews of the Jones family.

Grant was born and raised in Maidstone Township of Essex County. He graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and after graduation moved to Woodstock Ontario to work for Eaton Yale (Timberjack) for 7-1/2 years. He spent the next 35 years working for SAF Holland Canada as Chief Engineer Holland Canada, General Manager of Holland Hitch Western in Surrey BC, Engineering Manager Holland Equipment Limited and Director of Research and Development.

Special thanks to all of Grant’s doctors and their medical support teams for the compassionate care they gave Grant.

In honouring Grant’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held later. Cremation will take place, and Interment will be in the Columbarium at the Anglican Cemetery in Woodstock, ON. Arrangements have been made with Brock & Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock, ON (519-539-0004).
