Ioan Nicolae Dumitru

November 6, 1958 – June 6, 2025

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Ioan Dumitru. Ioan passed away at home with his wife by his side on June 6, 2025, in Woodstock, Ontario at the age of 66.

Ioan was born on November 6, 1958 in Târgu Lăpuș, Maramureș, Romania. He immigrated to Canada where he spent most of his life and raised his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Florina Dumitru, and his children: Cassandra Dumitru, Lauren Dumitru, and John Dumitru. He will be dearly missed by his sisters Regina Dalos, Maria Drinca, and Anuca Săsăran. Ioan was predeceased by his parents, Nicolae and Măriuca Dumitru, and his sister Maria Dumitru.

Ioan found joy in life’s simple pleasures — being with family, sharing laughs with friends, and enjoying a cold beer. His generous spirit and sense of humour will be remembered by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, Ontario on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025 from 6 pm - 8 pm and on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025 from 12 pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:30 pm in the chapel of the Funeral Home.
