Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Irene Gaynor DeSloovere (née Bromiley) announces her peaceful passing on July 4, 2026, in her 76th year.

Gaynor was the beloved wife of the late Camiel "Coon" DeSloovere Jr. (2001), whose memory she carried with her every day. She was a devoted mother to Lee (Jenn) of Princeton and Rachel of Port Rowan, and a proud and loving grandmother to Bodhi and Aubrey, who brought her endless joy.

Gaynor is survived by her brother Roy Bromiley (Jane - 2024), niece Kristen Deckert (Greg), and nephew James Bromiley (Steph).

Born on August 25, 1950, in England, Gaynor embraced life with warmth, humour, and a contagious spirit. She especially cherished her time at her trailer in Port Rowan, where she created countless treasured memories with family and friends. She was known for sharing her latest "cat stories," taking leisurely golf cart tours, gathering around a campfire, and enjoying her favourite Golden Wedding cocktail—affectionately known as her "drinky poo." Her radiant smile, infectious laughter, and enthusiastic trailer park countdowns will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

For those who knew Gaynor best, one of the greatest loves of her life was her beloved husband, Camiel. Though his passing came far too soon, leaving a space in her heart that could never be filled, she remained forever grateful for the years they shared together. She often spoke of him with love, treasured the memories they created, and carried his love with her always.

Now, the sorrow of that separation has come to an end. It brings comfort to know that Gaynor has been reunited with the love of her life—a reunion she long held close in her heart. Together once again, their love is no longer limited by time, distance, or loss.

While her family and friends deeply mourn her absence, they find peace in knowing she is finally home, forever by Camiel's side. Their love story, interrupted too soon on earth, is now beautifully whole, and their enduring devotion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know them.

Cremation has taken place.

Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 2 to 4 pm.

If desired, memorial donations in Gaynor's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their love, support, and kindness during this difficult time.
