With heavy hearts we celebrate the life and mourn the passing of Irene Tansley, a cherished soul who touched so many lives with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. Irene departed from this world on May 24, 2025, at 10:01 am, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and a family who adored her.

Born on June 26, 1948, to Elsie Jessop and Herbert Cornforth, Irene grew up alongside her beloved sisters, June, Joyce, and Gail. From her earliest years, Irene possessed a nurturing spirit, a quality that would define her life and endear her to all who knew her.

Irene was the devoted wife to the late Len Tansley, who passed away in 2022. Theirs was a partnership built on love and mutual respect, a bond that created a strong foundation for their family. Our hearts are comforted to know that you have been reunited with dad.

She was, above all, a loving and caring mom. Her daughter, Carrie Tansley, and Carrie's partner, Tony Vietri, knew her boundless support and affection. Irene's joy was multiplied by her grandchildren: Breanna, Brooklyn, and Lucas, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She cherished every moment spent with them, watching them grow and celebrating their achievements.

Her son, Shawn Tansley, and his wife, Rosie, also experienced Irene's deep capacity for love and her welcoming nature. Irene was a proud Nana to their daughters, Chauntal and Annabelle, delighting in their presence and showering them with affection.

Her second son Chris Creamer and her daughter in law Lorna Eling were also an important part of her life for many decades of trust, love and laughter.

Sadly missed by her canine companion, Buddy.

To speak of Irene is to speak of a friend to all. She had an incredible ability to make everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. Her home was often a place of comfort and welcome, her presence a source of solace and joy. Whether it was a listening ear, a word of encouragement, or a simple, warm smile, Irene had a way of making the world a brighter place for those around her.

She navigated life's challenges with grace and resilience, and she celebrated its joys with an open heart. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit generous, and her impact on our lives immeasurable.

While we grieve her absence, we also find comfort in the countless memories she has gifted us. The lessons she taught, the love she shared, and the kindness she embodied will continue to live on in each of us. Irene’s spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of our lives.

She was more than just a mother, a grandmother, a sister, or a friend; she was a beacon of love and a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived.

May we honor Irene's memory by carrying forward her legacy of kindness, by loving generously, and by cherishing the connections we share with one another, just as she did.

The family extends their heart felt gratitude to Saint Joesph’s Hospital in Hamilton for their kind and compassionate care.

The family appreciates all the love and support from extended family and friends. God bless you all.

Rest in peace, dear Irene. You will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
