Isabell McMillan

Isabell McMillan, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, at the age of 86 in her beloved hometown of Woodstock, Ontario. Born on June 5, 1939.

Raised in the nurturing surroundings of Woodstock, Isabell wed her beloved husband, Robert McMillan, on June 21, 1958. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with memories and the laughter of their three daughters: Cindy Hilderley, Jennifer West, and the late Catherine Attridge. Robert, who departed from this world in 2007, was not only a partner but also a close friend, with whom Isabell shared endless weekends filled with laughter during card nights with dear friends.

Throughout her life, Isabell's vibrant personality shone brightly. She dedicated many years to a fulfilling career in retail, starting at Gerrard's Clothing Store before bringing her expertise and charm to the Shoe Department at Woodstock Walmart. Her passion for connecting with people was evident in her social nature; Isabell loved spending time with friends and was known for her generous spirit. She often spoiled those she loved, showering her family with affection and thoughtful gifts.

Isabell had an enduring love for shopping, proudly claiming to have visited nearly every mall in Ontario. Her creativity extended beyond retail; she enjoyed sewing and spent joyful hours participating in a bowling league during her earlier years. With a heart full of love, Isabell cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, forming bonds that will forever be treasured.

Isabell is survived by her loving daughters, Cindy Hilderley and her husband Terry, and Jennifer West and her husband Dwayne. Her legacy carries on through her adoring grandchildren: Mark Hilderley and his wife Deborah, Amy Sarabosing and her husband Peter, Victoria Attridge and her partner Justin, Alexandra Attridge and her fiancé Logan, and Abigail West and her partner Justin. Her great-grandchildren—Tenley, Faith, Hannah, Zoe, and Noah—were a constant source of joy and pride in her life.

She joins her dear sister, June Henry, who passed away in 1992, and her cherished daughter, Catherine Attridge, who left us in 2021.

Special thanks to the staff at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock for providing wonderful care to Isabell during the last year as well as to the CCU nursing staff for all their amazing support and care during her last few days.

Isabell McMillan will be remembered not only for her warmth and kindness but also for the vibrant spirit she brought into every room. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, as they continue to share stories and memories of a remarkable woman who embraced life with open arms.

Cremation has taken place, with a private celebration to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson's Society.
