RICHARDSON, James William “Jim”

Peacefully at the Woodstock General Hospital on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. James William Richardson of Woodstock in his 95th year. Beloved husband of the late Verna Richardson (nee Garfat), 2008. Dear father of the late James D., 2018, and his wife Diane, Glenna Richardson, Janet Ionson and her husband the late Allan, 2015, all of Woodstock.

Loved grandfather of Carrie (Ryan), Nicole (John) and Michelle (Trevor)and great-grandfather of Logan (Jenna), Cassidy, Sierra, Lachlin and Callum.

Jim is also survived by his sister-in-law Donna Richardson.

Jim will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his siblings Bill Heatherington, Glenn Heatherington, Jack Wood and Hardee Richardson, Nettie Butcher-Young and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Jim operated a dairy farm in Norwich Township with his wife Verna until their retirement when they moved to the “city”. Once settled they enjoyed dancing, exploring Ontario, and spending time with friends and family.

Relatives and friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 1pm in the funeral home chapel followed by a reception. Interment will then take place at Oxford Centre Pioneer Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jim can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation https://www.heartandstroke.ca/, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
