Jean Elizabeth (Bowman) Clendinning passed away peacefully at Secord Trails Care Community in Ingersoll, Ontario, on Feb 2, 2023 at age 97, having battled advanced dementia for several years.

Jean was raised on a mixed farm south of Ingersoll as the eldest of three daughters of the late Edith and Frank Bowman. Jean is predeceased by her sister Dorothy (2014) and brother-in-law, Currie Way (2008) as well as her sister Barbara (2023) and brother-in-law, Hugh McTaggart (2004).

Jean will be remembered fondly for her enjoyment of gardening, baking and the love for her family. She was a dedicated caregiver to her best friend and beloved husband of 50 years, the late James (Jim) Clendinning (1997). They resided in Ingersoll and later moved with their son to St. Ives to become beef farmers where Jean enjoyed the countryside and became a member of the Thorndale United Church.

Jean was the treasured mother of Fred Clendinning and his late wife, Linda (Dufton) (2022). Jean will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Matthew of St. Mary’s, Julie (Kayode) Famewo of Brampton, and Andrew (Mandy McKercher) of Ottawa, and great-grandchildren, Peyton, Dara, Harper, Kayla, Tenley, and Nolan.
