Joan Marion Aicken

With deep love and sorrow, the family of Joan Marion Aicken announces her peaceful passing on August 17, 2025, at Woodstock Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 93.

Beloved wife of the late Jack Aicken (2001), Joan was a devoted mother to Sharon (John) Karn, Connie (late John) Luckman, Jacqui (Barry) Young, Mark (Lori) Aicken, and the late Paul Aicken and Susan (John) Stanczyk. She will be lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

Joan was predeceased by her sister Phyllis (Dave) Salsman and is survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

A member of St. David's United Church, Joan found great strength and a sense of community with her involvement with the United Church Women. She will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and her unwavering love for her family.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Woodstock Hospital and Langdon Retirement Villa for their compassionate care.

Cremation has taken place, and in keeping with Joan’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
