John Norman McHardy passed away suddenly on May 15, 2026, in his 79th year. Born on October 15, 1947, John will be remembered as a kind and caring man who valued friendship, community, and simple pleasures in life.

John worked for many years at the GM Distribution Centre in Woodstock and dedicated much of his time to volunteering with Scouts Canada, Dereham District Lions Club, and the Oxford Trail Riders. He enjoyed gathering with friends for breakfast and looked forward to coffee and conversation with the Mount Elgin group.

John was predeceased by his parents Jack and Helen McHardy.  John also held a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Marlee and Brandy, who predeceased him and brought him great companionship over the years.

He leaves behind many special friends who will miss his warm presence, quiet kindness, and the many memories shared together.

A Celebration of John's life will take place at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock Ontario N4S 8Z4, on Sunday June 14, 2026 from 2-4pm.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation.
