LUDINGTON, Joshua

We are heartbroken to announce that Josh Ludington passed away suddenly as the result of a motorcycle accident on August 10, 2025 at just 28 years old.

Josh was born on July 22, 1997, to Ryan and Patti Ludington (nee Merrifield). He will be greatly missed by his parents, sister Kenzie (Gavin), brother Noah, his two nephews Christopher and Jack, his grandmother Gwen Ludington, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is predeceased by his grandmother Eileen Merrifield, and grandfathers Ed Merrifield and Ronald Ludington.

Josh graduated from St. Mary's High School in Woodstock in 2015. After high school he dedicated many years to the motorcycle industry, working at Apex Cycle in Cambridge and Peak Powersports in Barrie. More recently, Josh switched to a career at Toromont CAT in Cambridge, where he met some of the greatest friends, he loved his job and he loved his coworkers more.

His favourite things were his family and his toys (with engines). He spent his spare time riding dirtbikes, playing hockey, golfing, riding his motorcycle, hanging out with friends and spending time with his nephews. He truly embraced life and lived it to the fullest.

Though his time with us was far too short, Josh’s impact will be felt forever. His big personality, care for others, quick wit, and sarcasm could never be matched. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Family and friends will be welcomed at the Craigowan Golf Club, 595838 Hwy 59 N, RR #6, Woodstock, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 1-4 pm for a celebration of life. If desired, donations in memory of Josh can be made to the charity of your choice.
