IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joyce
Thompson
November 29, 1938 – March 20, 2026
Joyce Thompson, a dedicated and beloved hairstylist, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, in Woodstock, Ontario. Born on November 29, 1938, in East Oxford Township, Joyce lived a life marked by devotion to her craft and the warmth she extended to those around her.
From the tender age of sixteen, Joyce committed herself to the art of hairdressing, a passion that blossomed into a lifelong career. She proudly owned and operated Victoria Beauty Nook in Woodstock, where she welcomed countless clients with skill and kindness.
Though Joyce remained single throughout her life, she was deeply loved by her family, who were a central part of her world. She was predeceased by her devoted parents, Cain and Amelia Thompson, and her sister, Helen Mighton. Joyce’s legacy continues through her cherished niece, Darlene Foster (Nick Waznicky), and her nephew, Wayne Millard (Adrienne). Her affection and influence also extended to her grand nieces and nephews: Sarah McKinlay (Jeff), Haylon Foster (Bryan Cassone), Lindsay Cornell, and Katie Whittaker (Dean), who remember her fondly.
Joyce had a special place in her heart for Murphy, her niece’s dog, who shared her love and often accompanied visits to the nursing home to see her. This simple joy was a testament to the warmth and connection that defined Joyce’s life.
Interment will take place at Princeton Cemetery.
