Keith Wilson Walters

Keith Walters passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Woodstock Hospital in his 79th year. Keith is remembered by family and friends for his passion for life and his family. Keith’s childhood was spent growing up with his siblings on their family farm in Embro. Often, he would be found in the garage under the hood of a car sidetracked from doing his barn chores. Time spent tinkering with his hobby car preparing it for the weekly races and being involved in Junior Farmers kept Keith busy during his teenage years. While attending a Teen Town Dance in Embro back in 1965, Keith won the heart of Millie and as they say, the rest is history. Starting their family of Sandra, Marci and Jeffery, Keith built his home on Kintore Sideroad close to his family farm. He would live there until his passing. From a young age, Keith began his career as a welder working for Timberjack and then King Truck Engineering. His hard work and skill in the trade led him later in his career to become a supervisor. In 1980, Keith suffered the loss of his son, then aged 5. Jeffery’s memory would later live on in the hearts of his 6 grandchildren, three boys and three girls. Keith was a supportive and dedicated father and grandfather and could always be found at an arena, ball diamond, cross country course, theatre, the race track and where ever the fish were biting. He and Millie drove many miles in their motorhome visiting race tracks throughout North America. In 2020, he felt a great loss in Millie’s passing and later that year faced his own diagnosis of lung cancer. He hung up his welding helmet after retiring from Kindsdale Carriers Ltd., at the age of 74. Keith lived every day to the fullest, always with his family supporting him.

Keith will be forever missed by his family. Predeceased by his wife, Millie (nee Pearson). Cherished father of Sandra (Wayne Kirwin), Marci (Chris Shelton). Predeceased by his son Jeffery Keith (1980). Loving Grandpa Keith of Samuel, Ben, Colin, Chloe (Carter), Hannah and Caitlyn. Dear brother of Lorene Krynen (Bill) and brother-in-law to Ronald Henderson, Pat Rudy, Robert Pearson (Brenda), Donald Pearson (Nancy), Steve Pearson, Valerie Chambers. Predeceased by his parents, Hilda and Carl Walters, his mother-in-law, Lorene Pearson, his sister Donna Henderson, and his brother Gary Walters, brothers-in-law David Pearson, Robert Rudy and Thomas Chambers. Keith will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his beloved dog Caesar. 

Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at North Embro Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life honouring Keith will be held for family and friends on Friday, May 30th, 2025 at the Embro-Zorra Community Center located at 355644 35th Line, Embro, On, from 3 pm to 7 pm. In memory of Keith, please feel free to wear a favourite team jersey, race car shirt or fishing attire.
