Klaas Vandermeer

Klaas Vandermeer, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home in Innerkip, Ontario, on November 2, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on March 4, 1947, in Holland and emigrated to Canada when he was 5yrs old.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Vandermeer (nee Siderius), and children, Leona Torres, David McDonald (Ann), and Michael McDonald (Jenn). Klaas was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brothers, Siebe Vandermeer (Ivy) and Sye Vandermeer (Ellie), his brother-in-law Mike Hunnerson, and his sister-in-law Sandy Vandermeer.

Klaas was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Hilly Vandermeer, his sister Dorothy Vanspronsen, his sister Janet Hunnerson, and his brother Harry Vandermeer.

A visitation will be held on November 7, 2025, at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, located at 410 Lansdowne Ave, Woodstock, ON N4T 1J2, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with burial and reception to follow. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring and celebrating the life of Klaas Vandermeer.
