Laurel Gunter (nee Healy) passed away at London Health Sciences Centre Victoria Street Campus on September 18/25 after a determined yet devastating fight against Lymphoma.

Laurel was born in Richmond, Quebec, on January 7th, 1945. She married the love of her life, Hartley Gunter, on Oct. 3, 1964, and they enjoyed many happy years together until his passing in 2019. Laurel will be forever missed by her daughters, Carmen Redford (Randy) and Carol Loewith (Daniel). She was the best Gramz to Clare and Rachel Redford, and Hannah, Chloe, Maggie, and Joseph Loewith.

She is predeceased by her big brothers, Francis and Robert Healy. She is survived by brother Allan Healy (Rose) and Heather Davidson (Eric), and by her in-laws: Peggy Healy, Daphne and Barry Horan, Steve and Lucy Gunter, and Rick and Bev Gunter, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Laurel enjoyed many years of work in the advertising department of the Woodstock Sentinel Review and the Oxford Shopping News. She loved her neighbours and her huge garden on the 13th concession and was content with her move into Woodstock apartment which allowed her to make many meaningful friendships.

Laurel had a great sense of humour, was generous with her love, and was driven by a strong and honest work ethic. She was famous for her butter tarts and homemade bread. Laurel was a wonderful mom and grandmother who will be so sadly missed.
