Leendert Jacobus Boogerd, affectionately known as Leen, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2023, after a brief illness, at his home in Burgessville, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 29, 1951, in Ouwerkerk, Netherlands, Leen was in his 73rd year.
Much loved husband of Beppie for over 48 years. Left to honour his memory and uphold his positive legacy are his children, Monique (Ildert), Dirk (Tracie), and Gerben (Kayleen). Cherished Opa to Kevin, Marc, Amy, Evan, Aiden, Alex, Elayna, Clara, Tysen and Mavis. Leen's impact was profound, his absence will be deeply felt, and his life will be celebrated by all who had the privilege to share in it. His passing leaves a space that can never be filled, and his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him.
Leen was a hardworking and well-liked farmer who cultivated not only fields but also lasting relationships with all who had the fortune to cross his path. His joyful spirit, sense of humour, optimism and outlook on life were contagious, bringing comfort and laughter to those around him.
