Leigh C. Yates, passed away peacefully on the morning of April 27, 2026 at Woodstock Hospital.

Leigh had recently celebrated his 95th birthday with his family and friends by his side.

Originally from St. John’s Newfoundland, Leigh moved to Woodstock in 1991 with his loving wife, where they enjoyed retirement with family and friends, both old and new.

Leigh was predeceased by his wife Alma, whom he shared 64 beautiful years of marriage; daughter Lori; parents George and Ethel; sister Fern and brother Keith.

Leigh will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Karen (Keith), son Ken (Kathy) and his cherished grandchildren Kirk (Emily), Kaeleigh and Kristopher (Diane). He also leaves behind his treasured great grandchildren Chuck, Aleigha and Leighton, who brought him great joy. Leigh is also survived by his brother Bruce (Joan), sister in law Phyllis and many nieces and nephews.

Leigh will be fondly remembered for his warm hugs, kind heart and sense of humour.

This is not goodbye, this is bye for now, until we meet again.

Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation taking place at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 6-8pm.  As per Leigh's wishes, a private family service will take place at a later date.
