Lorraine Vera-Mae Babos, lovingly known as Lorrie, passed away surrounded by her beloved family in her hometown of Woodstock on January 20, 2024, due to medical complications at the age of 50. Born on November 16, 1973, Lorrie's life was one marked by an unquenchable zest for adventure and an enduring warmth that touched the lives of everyone she met.
Lorrie was the cherished daughter of Jossie Lonsberry and her husband Reg, and Ron Babos and his wife Dodie. She grew up alongside her caring brothers, Dwayne Babos and his partner Nancy, and Don Lonsberry and his partner Catherine. Lorrie's spirit of love and legacy continue through her daughter, Brittany Babos and her husband Bobby, and her adored grandchildren, Brody and Trinity. She was the treasured granddaughter of her grandparents, Mary and Ben Bachl, and held a special place in the hearts of her nephews, Tyler and Mitchell Babos, and her nieces, Xandra Babos (Jordan), Lilly, and Logan Lonsberry. Her large extended family of aunts, uncles, and many cousins will fondly remember her laughter and courageous spirit.
An eternal learner, Lorrie was committed to personal growth and continuously sought to expand her knowledge. Her intellectual curiosity was matched only by her entrepreneurial spirit, as she thrived in her role as a self-employed individual. Her professional journey was characterized by the same innovation and tenacity that she brought to every aspect of her life.
Lorrie's passions were as diverse as they were vibrant. She had an innate ability to find joy in following the sun to warm countries, an interest that spoke to her adventurous soul. Back at home, she found solace and creativity in renovating, painting, and rearranging her house, transforming it into a sanctuary that reflected her dynamic and friendly personality.
Those who knew Lorrie would describe her as courageous, a woman who faced life's challenges with grace and determination. She was adventurous, never shying away from the opportunity to explore new horizons or delve into new experiences. Her friendly demeanor ensured that she was never without companionship; her presence was a comfort and a joy to those around her.
Lorrie's life was a testament to the power of living authentically and with passion. Her courage in the face of adversity, her adventurous spirit that led her to seek out the beauty of the world, and her friendly nature that made her a beloved member of her community and will be deeply missed and remembered with love.
As the sun sets on a life so brightly lived, we bid farewell to Lorraine Vera-Mae Babos. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the warmth of the sun she loved so dearly remains with us even after it dips below the horizon. Though she has departed from this earthly journey, her spirit of love, adventure, and friendship will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
We invite those who knew and loved Lorrie to join us in celebrating her extraordinary life. Her story does not end here; it is carried forward in the memories we share, the stories we tell, and the love we continue to hold for her. Lorraine Vera-Mae Babos, a beacon of light and love, may have concluded her earthly journey, but her legacy will shine on perpetually in the lives she touched.
