Marie Barbara Adele Rachelle Moffatt passed away Sunday November 16th, 2025, surrounded by friends and family at Sakura House in Woodstock, Ontario. Rachelle was born November 9th, 1971, in Ottawa, Ontario and passed at the age of 54. She was a loved mother, daughter, partner, and friend whose time here will be forever remembered, and she will be dearly missed by many.
Rachelle will be lovingly remembered by her children Meghan and Aidan Campbell, her longtime partner Tony Cowell, his children Jake and Emily Cowell as well as little Lincoln, and Jaime Cowell and her Fiancé Marcel. Her mamma Lucy McVeetors and stepfather Dawson, her stepsisters Laurie McVeetors and Dawna Erskine, as well as her adopted sister Lanna O'Brien all share that they love and miss her. Her father Brian Moffatt, stepmother Sharon Moffatt, and adopted brother Geo will cherish the memories made with her forever. Rachelle is predeceased by Shirley Cowell in 2023.
Although Rachelle had been battling the last 5 years with breast cancer, she never let her diagnosis stop her from doing what she loved. Whether it was spending time with her friends trying every local restaurant’s lunch menu, watching her favourite team the Bears beat the Cowboys live in Chicago with her partner Tony, or beating her kids in endless games of Yahtzee. Rachelle had the most beautiful blue eyes that announced her every time she stepped in the room. She was full of life and wanted to experience the most she could in her short time here.
Rachelle shared 25 years of her life working as a server at Kelseys in Woodstock and made many long-lasting friendships there with coworkers as well as some regulars. She was an avid golfer and golfed as much as she could at local courses every summer. She was also a member of Dayspring Church run by her mom and stepfather in Ottawa, as well as a local church in Woodstock, The Rock Bible Church. She loved the church, Jesus, and the kind friends she made following his path.
The family wants to send their thanks to Sakura House in Woodstock and all its staff and volunteers for taking such good care of Rachelle and her family in her last days. They would also like to thank the Woodstock hospital, the London Hospital and all the doctors and nurses that took care of Rachelle during her many appointments. Brock and Visser stepped in to help the family last minute and they couldn’t be more thankful for the gentle hand they used to guide them in this difficult time.
For those that wish to celebrate Rachelle’s life and be with friends and family to share memories there will be a Memorial Service on November 29, 2025 held at Dayspring Church located at 999 Moodie Dr. Nepean, Ontario at 11:00am with a reception to follow.
There will also be a Celebration of Life held at the Navy Club at 959 James St, Woodstock from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on December 7, 2025.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to suggest donations to Sakura House in Woodstock as well as the Canadian Cancer Society to help those that will need those essential resources in the future.
