October 8th, 1952- April 27th, 2023
It is with deep sorrow and much surprise that we mourn the very sudden passing of Mike Kijewski (Woodstock) on April 27th, 2023, at the age of 70 years. He passed doing something he loved, playing music with friends.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of over 46 years, Nancy [nee Bragg]; children: Liam (Crystal Bradford) and Olivia (Mike Brooks); pets Baxter and Gabe.
Predeceased by his son Morgan, his mother Anna [nee Handrych] and his father Mieczyslaw (Mike), his brother Walter Janker of Germany, and his sister Erika Katsoulis of Deep River, Ontario.
He will be lovingly remembered by many, including his brother Peter Janker (Renate) of Germany, brothers Jim and Bob (Janet), as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Mike will be remembered for his uniqueness, his stories, his sense of humour, his music, his helpful and open nature, his appreciation of small things, and his willingness to go against the grain. Mike was kind and generous, often sticking up for the marginalized and disadvantaged.
Mike loved his walks in nature with his dogs. He was involved with the Hickson Trail Committee, and spent much time revitalizing the Hickson Trail. Please enjoy a trail walk in his memory.
A visitation will be held on Sunday May 21st from 2-4pm at The Oxford Auditorium (Woodstock Fairgrounds).
