IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nila
Ohlson
April 12, 1941 – March 6, 2026
“The vibrancy of a well lived life is a life never forgotten.”
A life well lived is a perfect description of our beloved Nila Jean Ohlson.
Nila was a woman of uncompromising standards. She held a profound belief in the potential for excellence in everyone she met. She called for those she loved to rise to their best, all the while having a wonderful time, always keen to learn and staying active with her dear group of friends.
Nila was born April 12, 1941, and passed peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit at the Woodstock Hospital. She was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario and later attended Brescia College at the University of Western Ontario. It was here she met her beloved Carl and studied to become a medical lab technician.
Nila leaves behind a legacy defined by her vibrant endless energy, pride, and love for three daughters and six grandchildren she loved to spoil. Many of her favourite hobbies revolved around sports. From her earliest she was a talented athlete. Her most notable joy was found on the golf course or curling rink. A dedicated member of Craigowan Golf Club in Woodstock and Olde Hickory Golf and Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida. Nila was a familiar and well-liked face on the fairways. She was happiest with a club in her hand, playing alongside her husband and treasured friends. Nila even landed a spectacular hole-in-one in 2010 and played in the Canadian Women’s duMaurier Classic Pro-Am tournament in 1998.
Her daughters and grandchildren all followed in her love for athletics. Nila was at every sports game either as a coach, a fan of the sidelines or watching videos of the grandkids online.
Together with Carl they enjoyed travelling the globe embodying the spirit of adventure and now they are reunited in eternal rest hand in hand in the golden light.
Nila is survived by her daughters Susan Ohlson and Lori Neale (Rick), son-in-law Jeff Wiseman, grandchildren Maddie Wiseman (Mike Prince), Kendra Vandecamp (Lucaas), Brody Wiseman, Jasper Neale, Liam Neale, and Olin Neale. Husband Carl Ohlson and daughter Deborah Wiseman predeceased Nila.
