Obituary

With deep sadness, the family of Norma Ruth Hutchinson announces her peaceful passing at Woodstock General Hospital on June 5, 2026, following a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer.

Born in Stratford, Ontario, in 1956, Norma was the beloved daughter of the late Herbert and Ruth (Hallock) Robertshaw and cherished sister of Vern Robertshaw (predeceased by his wife Leslie). Raised on her family's dairy farm, Norma remained deeply connected to her roots, living on the farm until 2015 before building her dream home on Braemar Side Road.

Norma was the devoted wife of Fred for 47 years, a loving mother to Dayna, Megan (Nik), and Sean, and a proud grandmother to Abby, Evan, Mila, and Liam, all of whom brought her immense joy.

A talented hairstylist, Norma operated her own home salon for more than 40 years. She also worked at the Oxford Regional Centre with the Ministry of Community and Social Services before spending 23 years in administration with the Ontario Disability Support Program.

Norma found happiness in life's simple pleasures. In her younger years, she loved riding horses. She was an exceptional cook and baker whose kitchen was always open to family and friends. An avid gardener and devoted animal lover, she took great pride in nurturing both her gardens and the many pets she cared for throughout her life.

Norma will be remembered for her kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A funeral service to celebrate Norma's life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Avenue, Woodstock, Ontario, N4S 8Z4. A reception will follow the service, and all who knew and loved Norma are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society.
