Norman John Courts, age 93, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at the Four Counties Health Services Centre. Born on November 30, 1931, in England, Norman brought joy and laughter to those around him throughout his life.
For 25 years, Norman dedicated himself to his profession as a custodian for the Oxford County Board of Education, beginning his career at WCI and concluding at Oliver Stevens. He was cherished not just for his hard work but also for the warmth he shared with students and staff alike. Known for his contagious laugh, Norman had a special talent for lightening the mood with his jokes and pranks, a delightful trait that continued even during his time at the nursing home and hospital.
Norman is survived by his beloved wife, Doreen Courts (nee Ingold), who predeceased him in 2021. He is deeply missed by his daughter Kim Lennox and her husband Scott, along with his cherished grandchildren: Christopher (Kate), Justin (Jessica), and Dylan. Norman took great joy in being a grandfather and in the company of his great-grandchildren: Kaylin, Jayden, and Lydia. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched over the years.
Norman's legacy is one of love, laughter, and kindness, setting a standard for those he left behind. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Malinda Courts, and his brother, Gord.
