Richard Spanjer

Richard Spanjer passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Woodstock Hospital. He lived a full and vibrant life, dedicated to both his family and his work.

Richard devoted 40 years of his professional career to Standard Tube, where he was a respected member of the team, contributing to the company’s success with his hard work and dedication. In addition to his career accomplishments, Richard served proudly in the Navy from 1955 to 1960, exemplifying his commitment to his country.

In 1959, Richard married the love of his life, Tina Spanjer, née Wybenga. This partnership was the foundation of a loving family, which included their children, Rick (Deb) and Ron (Kim). His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Jason, Nick, Tyler (Jenn), Ryan (Daye), Dylan, and Matthew (Sarah), along with his great-grandchildren, Emma, Cameron, and Rowan.

Richard is also survived by his sister-in-law, Grace (Jack) Walda, and many cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember him for his warmth, humour, and unwavering presence in their lives.

He is predeceased by his brother-in-law, Peter Wybenga, who left us in 2015. While Richard’s absence leaves a void in the lives of those who loved him dearly, his spirit will forever remain a guiding light for his family and friends.

Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at Hi-Way Pentecostal Church, 584118 Beachville Rd, Ingersoll, ON, on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at 11:00 am. A luncheon to follow.
