Passed away in Tillsonburg, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in her 77th year, after a long, courageous battle with cancer, mostly in her own home.

She will be dearly missed by her siblings, Dorothy Burke of Brantford, John Bennett (Lois) of Springfield, and Barbara Salens (Barry) of Stratford. Also missed and loved by nieces and nephews, Karen Salens, Jeremy Salens, Andrew Bennett, and Alexis Oldfield (Jordan). Treasured by dearest friend Shelley Stephenson (Barry), who made her life so much lighter and full of fabulous friendship and memories. Also remembered by cousins, Heather, Kathy, and Scott, and the extended family in Australia. Pre-deceased by her parents, Herbert in 2006 and Kathleen Bennett in 2010. 

Ruth’s passion was her horses, one of them achieving the Lieutenant Governor’s Cup at the Royal Winter Fair in 1980.

She also worked for 23 years at Cami in Ingersoll. 

Thank you to the wonderful palliative care team at Woodstock Hospital and the kind and caring team at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Tillsonburg, for the last few months.

A memorial service will be held at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004, on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 2 PM, with a time of visitation starting at 1 PM.
