Ruth Marie Hughes

Ruth Marie Hughes passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, at the Caressant Care Nursing Home in her 88th year.

Ruth was married to her beloved husband, Les Hughes, for 66 joyful years. Together, they nurtured a family filled with laughter and kindness. Ruth is survived by her three daughters, Sherry (Mark) Warboys, Judy (Bill) Parker, and Stephanie (Mike) Whatley. Ruth was a devoted grandmother to Jamie (Chris), Sara (Jason), Michael (Sadie), and Nicole (Dumitru), and was blessed with ten great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

Ruth was born to Grant and Rita Cuthbert and was predeceased by them, as well as by her brothers, Larry and Wayne Cuthbert. She is survived by her brother, Howard (Marilyn) Cuthbert.

Ruth had a passion for nurturing her surroundings, evident in her beautiful garden where flowers bloomed with vibrant colors. She found joy in feeding birds, sharing the simple delight that nature brings. A talented baker, Ruth filled her home with the delicious aromas of fresh goods, creating sweet memories for her family. Her fondness for her Bichon Frisé added warmth to her days, and her family will forever cherish the love and joy she radiated.

As we celebrate the life of Ruth Marie Hughes, we remember her unwavering love for her family, her nurturing spirit, and the gentle way she touched the lives of those around her. Ruth’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

There will be a private family burial at Harris Street Cemetery in Ingersoll, Ontario.
