It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Samantha “Sam / Sammy” Gauvin on August 25, 2025, at the age of 34.
Sam was the beloved wife and best friend of James Gauvin, cherished daughter of Layne and Sue, treasured sister of Lauren and precious daughter-in-law and sister-in-law to Janet and Jessica. She was a loving mother to her dear son Jacob, and is predeceased by her angel baby, Brayden.
Sam’s life was filled with challenges which revealed her remarkable strength and resilience. What may have broken others only deepened Sam's spirit. She faced hardships with determination, compassion, and an unwavering love for those closest to her. Sam will be remembered for her generosity, fierce devotion to family and friends and her selfless service to helping anyone during their moment of need.
Sam's beautiful soul will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the support workers and caregivers who walked Samantha's life alongside her. You have given her irreplaceable life skills, loving memories and a safe space for her to thrive in your decades together. We would like to specifically thank Patricia, Paul, Karen, and Dora Lynn.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 1:00–4:00 p.m (tributes to begin at 2:00pm) at Brock and Visser Funeral Home (845 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock, ON, N4S 8Z4). Family and friends are invited to wear purple (Sam's favourite colour) as we gather to share memories and honour Sam’s life together.
