BALE, Sharon Mary (nee Bowden)
Sharon Mary Bale, affectionately known as "Sport", by her late husband, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, at Woodstock General Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on November 8, 1947, in Brantford, Ontario, to her loving parents, Lincoln and Esme Bowden. A devoted registered nurse, Sharon dedicated her career to serving the community through the VON CCAC, and at the Woodstock General Hospital. Her kindness and compassion extended beyond her professional life; she was known for her unwavering support, always there when needed, and she exemplified what it meant to truly care for others. Sharon had a lasting passion for family and cherished the time spent at the cottage in Sauble Beach for 16 years. It was a special place filled with joyful memories that she created with her family. The holidays were particularly meaningful, as Boxing Day dinners were traditionally held at the Bale household for many years, fostering an atmosphere of love and togetherness. She was the proud mother of Christine Bale (Paul Kaniuk) and Michael Bale, who, along with his wife Jill, continued to honor her nurturing spirit. As a grandmother, she reveled in the achievements and activities of her five grandchildren, Jadyn, Kaiden, Paxton, Dylan, and Levi, never missing any of their sporting events. Sharon's love for her family was boundless, as she took immense pride in raising her beautiful family and watching her grandchildren succeed. Sharon also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Karen Foster and Joy Bowden, brother-in-law Doug (Marion) Bale, as well as her loving cat, Maggie. She was also a cherished aunt to Lee, Erin, and Kerry. Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilfred "Bill" Bale, who passed away in 2010, her brother Ray Bowden, and her nephew Shawn.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Avenue, Woodstock, (519) 539-0004, on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
