Obituary

Sheila May Usher, born on May 23, 1938, in Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, at People Care in Tavistock, Ontario. 

Known for her loving and dedicated nature, Sheila was always willing to help anyone in need, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to know her.

Sheila’s life was marked by her deep commitment to family and community. She is survived by her children, Deb (Rick) Smith, Jim (Diane) Usher, and Ron (Carol) Usher, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and generosity. Sheila was a proud grandmother to Corey (Shelby), Crystal (Josh Leiskau), and Drew, and a loving great-grandmother to Brynley, whose lives she enriched with her warmth and care.

She was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Agnes Turkington; her beloved husband, Robert Usher, who passed in November 2025; her sisters, Anna Lewis, Vicki McKay, Amelia Forman, Joyce Veenstra, and Shirley Benson; and her brothers, Doug and David Turkington. Their memories remain cherished among those who loved Sheila.

Cremation has taken place and A Celebration of Life will be held on June 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home Burial and Cremation Services Ltd., Woodstock Chapel, located at 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, ON N4S 8Z4, Canada. Family, friends, and all who knew Sheila are invited to honor her memory and the beautiful life she led.

Sheila May Usher’s gentle spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
