Sylvia Booy (1960-2023)

Sylvia Booy, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went to be with her Lord peacefully  on April 5, 2023, in Woodstock, Ontario. Born on June 4, 1960, in Brampton, Ontario, Sylvia lived a courageous life filled with love, and unwavering faith.

Sylvia was the cherished wife of Steve Booy and the proud mother of Dave (Becca), Derek (Megan), and Josh (Jodie). She was the adored grandmother of Jayden, Kaleb, Seth, Isaac, Alex, Baylee, Lucas, Emily, Hannah, Hailey, and Stephen. Sylvia was also the loving sister of Fran Bouwers (Hank), Gilbert Huizinga (Helen), Betty Barwagen (Rienk), the late Ann Oosterhuis (Gary), Cathy Oosterhuis (Stuart), Harry Huizinga (Heidi), Linda Colamatto (Bob), Louise Maas (Arend), and Ed Huizinga (Karen).

Sylvia was the co-owner of Steve Automotive, a successful family business now owned by her sons. Family was at the heart of Sylvia's life, and her sons, daughters in law and grandchildren were her greatest source of joy and pride, and everyone who met her knew that. Sylvia was known for her thoughtfulness, loving nature, and strong faith, which guided her throughout her life.

Memorial donations to Operation Sharing would be appreciated by the family

A visitation will be held on Monday April 10, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church (735 Frontenac Cres.). A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday April 11, 2023 at 11 followed by cremation. Arrangements entrusted to Brock and Visser Funeral Home (845 Devonshire Ave.)

Although Sylvia battled MS for 35 years her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.
