Terrence “Terry” Hook

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Terrence (Terry) Hook, a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Terry leaves behind his loving wife, Lynda, and was a devoted father to Tyler (Jennifer) and Travis. He was a very special Poppa to his treasured grandchildren Cerys, Eily, and Rory, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Terry is predeceased by his parents Reg and Audrey Hook, and his father-in-law Bill Barnard. He is survived by his siblings Marlene (Red), Elva (Michael), and Marty (Val); his in-laws Greg (Cindy), Laura (Don), Grant (Wendy); and his mother-in-law Agnes Barnard, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Terry enjoyed a long career with Woodstock Hydro, where he worked as a meter technician. After retiring, he continued to stay active by working part-time at Angling Outfitters, a role he truly enjoyed. A lover of dogs, Terry and Lynda shared many loyal companions over the years. Some of his happiest moments were spent fishing with his family at Long Point, especially alongside his beloved Aunt Bug.

Known for his exceptional talent as a drummer, Terry played with Warpig and the Rockin’ Horse, creating memories, friendships, and music that will live on. He was also an inspiring mentor to many young athletes during his years of coaching hockey and soccer. One of his greatest pleasures in life was watching his grandchildren excel in their various sports and dance—he was endlessly proud of them.

Terry looked forward to Thursday nights at Montana’s with his best buddies, Brian and Bill, where many laughs and a few beers were shared. His family is profoundly grateful for the outpouring of love and support from friends and relatives during this difficult time. A heartfelt thank-you is extended to Bill for the many trips to London, and to the exceptional doctors and healthcare teams in both Woodstock and London. Terry always spoke highly of the wonderful care he received.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service has been held. A Social Gathering to honour Terry will take place on January 11, 2026 from 1–4 p.m. at the Woodstock Navy Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, London Health Sciences Centre, or the SPCA would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
