Terry J. Triemstra, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on January 9, 1963, in Woodstock, Ontario, Terry carried a deep love for his family and community throughout his life.
Terry built a commendable career as a truck driver, having worked with multiple trucking companies over the years. Most recently, he was employed by Purolator, where his dedication to his work and strong work ethic were well recognized. Known for being talkative and social, he cherished the relationships he developed along his journey, both in the workplace and at home.
Family was the cornerstone of Terry's life. He found immense joy in spending time with his loved ones, particularly during memorable family vacations and engaging in fun activities such as pool volleyball. His grandchildren were his pride and joy; he reveled in being a grandpa, and this role was one of his proudest accomplishments. He was also a devoted husband, whose love and commitment to his family were evident in every aspect of his life.
Terry is survived by his parents, Charles and Elsie Triemstra; his children, Jessica Howard and her husband, Matt; Tanya Bray and her husband, Chris; Kristy McTaggart and her husband, Chris; and Charles Triemstra and his wife, Lana. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Nathan, Wesley, Zachary, Carley, Jackson, Brynnley, Theodore, and Archer. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings, Charles Triemstra (Deb Veilleux), Maribeth Witteveen (Bert Witteveen), Beverly Faber (John Faber), and Jason Triemstra (Phet Triemstra); his sister-in-law, Wendy Triemstra; and other family members, including nieces and nephews.
Terry is predeceased by his twin brother, Perry Triemstra, who held a special place in his heart.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Terry's life during visitation on October 14, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brock & Visser Funeral Home Burial and Cremation Services Ltd., Woodstock Chapel, located at 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, ON. A funeral service will be held on October 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 735 Frontenac Crescent, Woodstock, ON.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario - Woodstock ReStore.
Terry’s memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, cherished for his stubborn spirit, his love for gardening, his addiction to Diet Pepsi, and most importantly, for being an avid family man. His legacy will live on through the stories shared and the love he instilled in his family and friends.
