Vera Jean Stewart (nee Lines), born on October 22, 1946, in Woodstock, Ontario, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, at Woodstock Hospital. With a remarkable career spanning over 35 years, she dedicated her life to serving the community through her work at the hospital, where she touched the lives of many with her compassion and commitment.
Vera treasured her family and friends deeply. She leaves behind her beloved partner, Robert “Bob” Norman. Vera embraced her role as a stepmother to Murray Norman (Louise) and Angela Clarke (Bryan), and she held a special place in her heart for her late stepson, Jeff Norman. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Darius and Jessie Hahn, Alyssa Kuron (Chris), and great- grandchildren Thomas and Sam.
In addition to her immediate family, Vera is survived by her sister, Helen Brenneman, and her sisters-in-law, Sheila Hunter, Isabel Craig, and Mary Lou Tout (George). She proudly assumed the role of aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Vera had a passion for photography and scrapbooking, skillfully preserving memories of her loved ones and the beautiful moments she encountered throughout her life. She cherished the simple joys of life and was well-known for her kindness and nurturing spirit.
Preceding her in death were her parents Edward and Clara (nee Logan) Lines, brothers, Howard (Dorothy) and Donald (Dorothy), and her brother-in-law, Earl Brenneman. Their memories will forever remain close to the hearts of those who knew and loved Vera.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home Burial and Cremation Services Ltd. Woodstock Chapel, located at 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, ON, N4S 8Z4. Burial to take place at Oxford Memorial Park, Woodstock, ON.
Vera Jean Stewart will be missed profoundly, leaving a void in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will inspire those left behind to cherish their own memories and the bonds of family and friendship.
