Violet "Peggy" Lavanne Wilson

Violet Lavanne Wilson, affectionately known as Peggy, passed away surrounded by the love of her family at Sakura House on August 10, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on March 8, 1929, in Delhi, Ontario, Peggy was one of  5 children born to the late Raymond and Irene Wilson.

Peggy's life was marked by her adventurous spirit and her profound love for her family. She was the cherished mother of the late Sheila Marsden, Wayne Wilson (Cathy), Thomas Wilson (Jill), and Sherri Stevens (Scott). Peggy's legacy of love continued as a proud Nana to her grandchildren Nicole (Phil), Kim (Chris), Tracy (Jeff), Ryan, Shawn, and Angie, and she was a proud great-grandmother to Sam, Jack, Ben, Eve, Elle, Estae, Eira, Miguel, Diego, and Mariah.

Predeceased by her husband William in 1967, and her siblings Jean, Minnie, Hilda, and Pete, Peggy's memory will be held dear in the hearts of those who survive her.

Professionally, Peggy was a respected accountant, renowned for her sharp mind and attention to detail. In retirement, her passion for travel and adventure was matched only by her artistic talent; she was a gifted painter whose works brought joy and beauty to many.

Peggy will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend whose zest for life was truly infectious. Her passing leaves a void that will be felt by all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her remarkable spirit.

In keeping with Peggy’s wishes, services will be private.  For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Brock and Visser Funeral Home.
