VANDAELE, Walter George- Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Kingsway Lodge, St. Marys, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Jean Vandaele (2018). Cherished father of Wayne (Kerry), Ronald, and Brian (Jackie). Loving grandfather of Sara (Stephen) Hurley, Shauna Vandaele, Erin Vandaele, Andrew Vandaele, Quinton Vandaele, Hailey Vandaele, and Zachary Vandaele. Proud great-grandfather of Lena, Evelyn, and Violett. Dear brother of Jeanette (late Roger) Verbeke, and Lizzette (late Jules) Vanhaelemeesch and brother-in-law of Frances (Jack) Prouse, Anna (late George) Litchfield, Donna (Richard) Douglas, and Donald (late Margaret) McKellar. Predeceased by his sister Rosette (Floyd) Steven. Survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Walter was born in Belgium and immigrated to Canada when he was just 15 years old. He made a living for himself in Canada as a welder and a farmer. He was a member of UA 527 for 65 years. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for visitation on Friday December 9, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 177 Dundas St. W, Thamesford. The funeral service will be held the following day, Saturday December 10, 2022 at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Charity of your choice would be appreciated and may be arranged through the funeral home.
