Alva Jean (Harvey) Fair

FAIR, Alva Jean (nee Harvey) - February 20, 1931, to May 14, 2020 – It is with great sadness that the family of Alva Fair announces her peaceful passing on May 14, 2020, at 89 years of age. Alva will be lovingly remembered by Bruce, her husband of nearly 66 years, her daughters Wendy (Larry) Johnson of New Hamburg and Cheryl (Ritchie) Barclay of Calgary. She was devoted grandmother of Katelyn and Kevin of Calgary, and Sarah of New Hamburg. Dear sister Alberta (Lorne) Fair and Norma (Jim) Sharpe. Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews. Alva will be lovingly remembered by the Fair family of Brant County and the surrounding area. Predeceased by her parents, Fielder and Martha (nee Parkin) Harvey, sisters, Dorothy Bain and Elizabeth MacDonald, and brothers, Raymond, and Wilmur. Along with being a loving wife and mother, Alva worked as a nurse’s aide at the Red Cross in Hamilton and at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock. Alva was an active member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, solving word puzzles and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and many friends. A private family graveside will take place at Baptist Cemetery, Woodstock. A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Woodstock or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
